It's so foreign and yet so vaguely familiar.
I feel like Summertime was a different Haily,
and now I'm back to the old Haily.
It's all so newly old.
If that even makes any sense.. :)
Parts of school have been rockin.
Parts of school have been rockin.
Let me give you the jist:
My AP Art teacher ROCKS!!
I love her!
My AP Art teacher ROCKS!!
I love her!
She's so quirky and confident,
and she gave a great first impression.
I'm excited to get to know her better.
I expect great things.
I hope she doesn't hate me..
[Luckily my first impressions to my teachers
have been pretty good so far, I think.
They seem to like me,
which is a HUGE relief!!]
But yeah, I love the AP Art class!
I'm super excited about all of it.
Emily transferred out today,
which makes me suuuper sad.
But I totally understand
because she really has
a lot on her plate.
She's going to rock it in Honors, though.
Spanish 1 is just the funnest class ever!!!
We're all equally horrible,
so it's quite hilarious.
Muy bien.
Mucho fantastico.
And I've realized this Summer that
if you add "itto" to the end of a word
it sounds Spanish.
The other day in class
I was making up junk
talking to my neighbor,
and Ben Pope asked me how
to say some words in Spanish
because he said it sounded like
I had taken Spanish before.
...I laughed pretty hard! :)
Sadly my schedule switched around a bit
so I have Spanish a different time.
Hopefully the other class is equally as epic! :)
But yeah, the biggest miracle:
I had to change my schedule around a bit to fit in Seminary.
(I thought I could handle Early Morning, but there's no way.)
So I went to the counseling office,
I had to change my schedule around a bit to fit in Seminary.
(I thought I could handle Early Morning, but there's no way.)
So I went to the counseling office,
and they put my form at the bottom of a huuge pile.
They said the classes probably wouldn't be open
but if so my schedule wouldn't change
for about two weeks.
Needless to say,
I was really bummed..
I need Seminary in my life!
Pronto!
I got a call from my Counselor this afternoon
I got a call from my Counselor this afternoon
and she fixed my schedule today!!!
Now everything is all perfect!
I am SO grateful to Mrs. Houle.
I am SO grateful to Mrs. Houle.
What a sweetheart.
Everything's all worked out! :)
It's really weird to see the new Sophomores at school.
Seriously everytime I see a Sophomore I think
"What the heck?!? What are you doing here??!"
And then I remember they're not just visiting,
"What the heck?!? What are you doing here??!"
And then I remember they're not just visiting,
They go to school here now!
It is really weird..
It's a good weird,
but it'll still take some time to adjust. :)
Junior year.
I'm excited.
I'm anxious for what lies ahead.
Junior year.
I'm excited.
I'm anxious for what lies ahead.
My Dad gave me a Fathers blessing this morning.
That was a huge relief.
But in it he said
I would go through many difficult challenges and trials this year.
..That took me by surprise.
A little peace warmed my heart as he said it.
Confirming what lies ahead,
and giving me strength.
There are so many new people to meet.
There are so many people to get to know better.
It's always scary putting myself out there,
but so worth it.
In the end
I realize they're not so scary after all.
I realize they're not so scary after all.
Funny fact:
Most of the time when you think
someone hates you
they really are just too scared to talk to you
and they think you hate them.
But the minute you actually
go out of the way to talk to them
you both realize
everything is good between you two.
You're both just dumb teenagers
learning how to communicate.
Ah, life is good.
I'm content. :)
Haily
I'm content. :)
Haily
P.S. I have a little story for you or anyone who is still willing to skim though my long post:
When I went school shopping at Platos Closet (Best place EVER!) I saw Amanda Decker who works there. (No big deal, just a suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper pro artist who went to Orem High several years back and got a 5/5 on the AP Art Portfolio as a Junior!!) ...That awkward moment when you see someone you have Facebook stalked a ton, and you know EXACTLY who they are as if you were friends, and they have no idea who you are. Hahaha the life of a stalker.. :) Anyway.. So It took some guts, but I started talking to her, and as creepy as I felt, she was flattered that I knew who she was and loved her art. She offered to teach me Oil and I about died!! I knew it probably wouldn't happen, but I was still so happy about it!! Then we Facebooked, and today I went to her house and she taught me how to Oil. What the heck?!?!?! She is SOOOO pro!!!! And such a good teacher. I learned so so so much from her. And even though it's not done, I actually like how it's turning out. I am actually pretty decent with Oil. And it's a still life. Something I normally I am horrible at and I hate. Now I'm looking forward to do more. IT was my goal for the summer to learn Oil, and now it happened!! Holy cow, dream come true!! I couldn't be happier!! :) :) I'll post pictures when it's done. Actually, I'll just post the picture of how it is coming right now. It's still in the wayyy beginning stages, but I'm happy about it! :)
